PPI Employees Support Youth Entrepreneurship Program in Shanghai World Cup Win
PPI employees recently had the honor of hosting a group of Santa Monica High School students enrolled in the school's Project ECHO program for budding entrepreneurs. The students spent "a day in the life of a PPI merchant" as they received a crash course in the electronic payments industry with employees from PPI's sales, marketing, underwriting, implementation and customer support, risk/data security, and finance departments.

The visit culminated in the students' award winning presentation that won them first place in the California state and the U.S. national SAGE competitions. The students drew a standing ovation and a significant congratulatory donation from PPI as they embarked to Shanghai, where the students competed against the best teams in the world. When the final votes were tallied, judges from around the world awarded them the SAGE World Championship Cup. The students competed against teams from countries such as China, Russia, South Africa, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Nigeria and Ghana.
SAGE, which stands for "Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship," is an international network linking secondary school student organizations to mentors from local business and universities. The mission of SAGE is to advance entrepreneurship education and community service-learning around the world, emphasizing ethical business practices, social responsibility, civic engagement and environmental awareness.

The new PPI headquarters in Newark, California is a state-of-the-art facility on the edge of San Francisco Bay, minutes from the hub of Silicon Valley. The 60,000 square foot building has the latest technology and design infrastructure, so it required only minimal tenant improvements to fit the needs of our growing firm. "We're fortunate to have found the ideal space," says Chuck Smith, President & CEO. "We've definitely increased our efficiency, which in turn allows us to better support our PPI Advantage Partners, as well as their customers," concludes Smith. With 194 offices, the building is large enough to accommodate several planned expansions over the next few years.
The new building is especially comfortable for our 130+ employees, who worked out of a much smaller and older space for many years as they helped build PPI into an industry leader. With easy freeway access, ergonomic workstations, well-equipped conference rooms, colorful and light-filled offices, a top-notch security system, and a large cafeteria, the PPI headquarters is a pleasant and enjoyable work environment for the entire PPI team.
